On the Controversial Illegality of the Unilateral Use of Force for the Prevention of Genocide: The ‘Doubtfulness’ Clause Adopted by the ICJ in the Case Filed by Ukraine Against Russia

The ICJ in its order dated 16 March 2022, decided that the legality of unilateral use force to prevent acts genocide is ‘doubtful’. Based on this order, it possible say provides a yellow light for prevention genocide. But expressed opinion respect 2007, underlining every state may only act within limits permitted by international law. doctrine underscored was forbidden. In situation, following question arises: really doubtful? To find answer question, necessary examine legal basis and means article, obligation has been comprehensively discussed.
